I LOVE problems. I love everything about them. The messier, the better. I am great at what I do because I thoroughly enjoy sorting and sifting through the mess and finding order. To me, experience design is not only about user control and affordance or micro-moments or white space.
Its about walking the distance in several shoes, the product owner’s who knows she has a glorious idea, the engineer’s who thrills at the idea of using the latest technology to build it, the product manager’s who frets about whether it will ever see the light of day, the tester’s who painstakingly agonizes over every possible failure so someone else doesn’t have to, but most importantly the end-user’s, who will never get to see or know any of this and just wonder if we ever thought of them. When these shoes are filled just right, then I know my job is done. Everything else is incidental.
